Although the older man was no longer young, there was no shortage of things he wanted to experience. Their first stop was the theme park’s famous ultra-long roller coaster. While they passed the long queue of waiting people, they went straight through the VIP entrance.
When Noland confidently chose the first row, Jin Shiya’s legs started to shake. Noticing her uneasy stance, Noland raised an eyebrow. “What’s the matter? Scared? If you're scared, you can wait for me down below.”
No one knew Jin Shiya better than Noland. The tactic of taunting her worked wonders on someone her age. As soon as Noland finished speaking, Jin Shiya was sitting beside him, having the staff buckle her safety belt.
She had planned to say a few tough words to Noland, but before she could even clench her fists and start, the roller coaster began to slowly ascend the track.
The scariest part of the roller coaster wasn’t the sudden drops or being tossed up and down on the track. It was the slow climb right at the start. Jin Shiya could hear her heart pounding in her chest, and her forehead was already starting to sweat from the nerves. As the coaster reached the top and suddenly stopped, her heart clenched, and before she could process it, the roller coaster plunged downward.
The scenery raced backwards, and the wind screamed in her ears, making Jin Shiya scream as well. Amidst the chaos, she could even hear Noland’s faint laugh beside her.
But she quickly lost focus on Noland. As the roller coaster flew through the track at breakneck speed, she held onto the safety bar tightly, her hair flying around, looking like a wild lion.
Though it was claimed to be the longest roller coaster, Jin Shiya’s first ride was over in a matter of minutes.
When her feet finally touched solid ground, her calves felt weak.
Noland, on the other hand, was completely unfazed, looking at her with a disdainful glance. “Why are you so weak?”
Jin Shiya almost snapped back in anger but didn’t have the energy. Instead, she shot Noland a resentful look. “It was my first time on a roller coaster.”
“Me too.”
“…Liar.”
Every word out of Noland’s mouth seemed untrustworthy to Jin Shiya.
This calm, composed man certainly didn’t look like someone who had just experienced a roller coaster for the first time.
Noland didn’t bother to argue. In fact, when he combined his two lifetimes, this was indeed his first time on a roller coaster.
But the thrill and excitement Jin Shiya had felt, Noland likely couldn’t experience anymore. His twenty-nine years of life had already seen countless events that could be turned into heart-pounding, thrilling movies. So riding a roller coaster didn’t really feel like much to him.
Still, Noland was satisfied. He saw in Jin Shiya’s reactions what his own younger self might have been like, if he had ever gone on a roller coaster.
For the entire three minutes of the ride, Noland had simply sat beside her, watching her, observing her excitement, her screams, and how she tightly gripped the safety bar. Her expressions were so amusing that he couldn’t help but chuckle.
He wanted to see more of Jin Shiya’s reactions, so he pointed toward their next destination.
Jin Shiya’s face instantly paled. “Haunted house?!”
The calm and composed Jin Shiya who had just ridden the roller coaster was nowhere to be found. Now, she was acting like a real twenty-year-old college student.
“Scared?” Noland teased.
Jin Shiya straightened her back. “I just rode a roller coaster. How could I be scared of this?”
