Noland didn’t stay at a hotel.

His capable assistant, Sherman, had already purchased a manor in the suburbs of Shangcheng and decorated it according to his preferences.

However, when Noland arrived at the manor, he frowned slightly. Sherman couldn’t understand why Noland seemed dissatisfied. The master bedroom was designed in Noland’s tastes, so why the sudden discontent?

It wasn’t that Sherman was unable to understand, it was just that Noland was thinking about something else. In truth, Noland was thinking that since he decided to teach his past self— Jin Shiya—he would inevitably become her mentor.

Sherman, knowing Noland’s prideful nature, had designed the second floor of the manor entirely for Noland’s use. There wasn’t a place for Jin Shiya to stay, not even in the guest room on the first floor or in a separate building next to the main manor.

"Redecorate the room to the right of the bedroom," Noland ordered.

Without hesitation, Sherman agreed, "Got it, Sir."

Noland started to speak about the room’s new style but paused.

He turned to Sherman and said, "Have a designer come here and design it according to my preferences."

Sherman was confused. His boss had never been picky about his rooms before. Often, as long as he had a place to sleep, he was fine. Sherman had learned his boss’ style over time, but now he wanted to meet with a designer and give input himself?

Sherman couldn’t help but feel that something wasn’t quite right with his boss.

This thought had crossed his mind when Noland first decided to come to China, and now, after seeing his behavior, Sherman was sure that he wasn’t acting like himself. But Noland was his boss, and no matter how strange his behavior was, as his personal servant, he still had to work hard and follow his boss’ orders.

After indulging his whim to redecorate the layout. That's when Sherman could finally heave a sigh of relief and retire to his room on the first floor for a peaceful night's sleep.

The next morning, before his alarm or internal clock had even gone off, Sherman was woken by a knock on his door.

Before fully opening the door, a maid, Olivia, bowed slightly and said, "Mr. Sherman, the sir is already waiting for you. Please hurry to the dining hall."

Most of the manor’s maids had graduated from international butler schools and were hired only for their decent appearances. But Olivia, who was brought from the main family, rather than a maid, was more like a housekeeper. She, like Sherman, handled the daily affairs of Noland’s life.

"The sir is up already?" Sherman glanced at his watch. It was only 5:30 AM.

Noland’s wake-up time was usually fixed. Even if he had stayed up late the night before, he would still get up at 7:30 AM. Sherman usually woke up an hour earlier at 6:30 AM, but today, he had inexplicably woken up an hour early, and he hadn't even fully adjusted to the time zone yet.

"Yes, the master said there is an important business meeting today."

"…This isn’t a prank, is it?," Sherman shrugged. "Give me five minutes. I’ll be ready."

Olivia nodded and turned to leave.

Sherman quickly got ready and, five minutes later, appeared in the dining room. Despite his jet lag and lack of sleep, he looked energetic, as if none of it had affected him.

When he walked in, Noland was sitting at the table wearing his robe and eating breakfast.

The dining hall was decorated in Noland’s preferred style. The large floor-to-ceiling windows filled the room with sunlight, and you could see the lush garden outside. Unfortunately, it was only 5:30 AM. Shangcheng had just transitioned from summer to autumn, so while it wasn't pitch dark, filling the room with sunlight was still a bit difficult at this hour.

The first thing Noland said when he saw Sherman was, "Which suit do you think looks better?"

"?!" Sherman wondered if he was still asleep.
