Jin Shiya was taken aback.
"Me?"
"Yes. Everyone else has tasks to handle, and with your family background, your presence will show RM’s respect. Also, you're sharp enough to observe and note the behaviors of the guests. It’ll be helpful to understand their preferences. Among the guests are foreign personnel, and your English pronunciation is the best. I'm worried others might forget some words or say something confusing. Jin Shiya, this project depends on you!"
Jin Shiya listened to Liu Hong’s instructions without objection.
She nodded solemnly. "Don’t worry, Liu Jie, I’ll make sure to properly welcome these distinguished guests."
Liu Hong smiled, urging everyone to get back to work.
The secretary office grumbled a bit, but soon, everyone started working diligently.
From the start, Jin Shiya was swamped, barely having time to take a sip of water. There were many things that needed adjusting, especially the list of guests’ names—many of them foreign, filled with difficult-to-read English names.
Tea, snacks, and drinks all needed to be reconsidered. After all, they had no idea which countries the guests were from or if they would be able to eat the foods prepared.
As one of the less busy people in the secretary office, Jin Shiya was also tasked with running errands. Some things couldn't be explained clearly over the phone, so she had to dash back and forth to deliver messages and check details.
At 10:15, Jin Shiya finally finished her final checks with Liu Hong. Once everything was confirmed, she bolted for the restroom at full speed, her heels clicking against the floor. There, she quickly touched up her makeup.
Five minutes later, after quickly touching up her makeup, Jin Shiya adjusted her hair, took a deep breath, and walked out of the restroom with a calm and composed smile.
At 10:25, Jin Shiya and Chen Zichen appeared on the first floor of the RM company building right on time. Normally, Jin Shiya's position should have been occupied by Liu Hong, but Liu Hong hadn't arrived yet. She was still busy preparing the reception room.
At 10:30 AM, six black cars arrived outside the company. Among them, one was similar to the car Jin Shiya had seen earlier in front of the coffee shop.
Paul, the general manager of AIBO, led the way, followed by other domestic company heads. Paul didn’t seem to have any intention of interacting with Chen Zichen immediately. Instead, he headed directly to the car behind him.
Jin Shiya recognized the man who got out of the passenger side—he was the one with the gold-rimmed glasses she'd seen earlier that morning. Paul walked to the door and opened it, a tall man stepped out of the car.
Jin Shiya couldn’t make out his face from this distance, but she could tell from his figure that he was well-built.
After exchanging pleasantries with some local managers he knew, Chen Zichen saw several foreign guests approaching.
"Mr. Paul, hello."
"Hello, Mr. Chen. This is the chief representative from our company HQ, Mr. Sherman Herman."
Paul introduced the man with the gold-rimmed glasses to Chen Zichen but made a subtle point of not ignoring the man with an undeniable aura who stood behind them.
"Hello, Mr. Chen." Sherman shook Chen Zichen’s hand, then exchanged pleasantries.
Jin Shiya’s mind, however, was working fast.
Paul didn’t seem impolite. But the fact that he chose to create an impression by skipping the introduction of the other person behind him made it clear that that man was extremely important.
When Paul made the introduction, he only mentioned Sherman because the man behind him had instructed not to introduce him.
Jin Shiya couldn’t help but glance at the person behind them.
Paul and Sherman were both tall white men, but neither of them blocked the view of the man behind them. This made it evident that the man held a high position, as both Paul and Sherman instinctively didn’t obstruct his line of sight.
This allowed her to see the man clearly.
