After that meal of spicy sour noodles, the relationship between Jin Shiya and Noland seemed to grow much closer. Jin Shiya no longer disliked street food. In fact, she often went out with her roommates to enjoy it and even started ordering milk tea and fried chicken via delivery apps.

Jin Shiya, having developed a new taste for it, also shared her milk tea recommendations with Noland. When Noland found out, he responded with a sticker: a cute chubby character happily drinking milk tea. This made Jin Shiya angry, and she didn’t speak to him for a while. However, when she saw a picture of milk tea posted by Noland on his social media with a decent caption, she couldn’t help but feel a bit better.

Despite the rapid progress in their relationship, the person Jin Shiya spent more time with was actually Sherman.

It couldn't be helped; Sherman was the one who handled errands and liaised with RM Company, while Paul, the general manager of AIBO Film Studios, was just a side character. By the time Noland realized this, Sherman and Jin Shiya had already become good friends. Noland could never have known that when Sherman faced Jin Shiya—who shared the same personality and temperament as his boss, yet was far more approachable—he felt a complicated mix of emotions.

However, Noland’s thoughts were: "My beautiful, brilliant, though sometimes silly and cute Jin Shiya has caught the attention of this pig!"

He looked Sherman up and down with the critical gaze of a father and found everything about him unpleasant. From top to bottom, Noland critiqued Sherman, even about things he used to praise him for as an employee. Sherman was average-looking, dull, overly serious, and had no interesting qualities. Noland even found fault with his glasses.

But when it came to comparison, Noland had to admit that Sherman was indeed superior to Bai Yongyan.

Sherman didn’t rely on his family background but worked hard to achieve success on his own. He had been by Noland’s side for years and was easy to manage. If he ever hurt Jin Shiya in any way, Sherman would have to check if his head was still attached to his neck. In terms of appearance, though Noland didn’t find him attractive, he was elegant and handsome enough. As for intelligence, being able to work so many years alongside Noland without causing trouble proved that Sherman wasn’t a fool. Add to that the fact that he had no troublesome relatives or parents to influence him, and he had kept his personal life clean and simple—he could easily be considered a perfect bachelor.

But for Noland, something didn’t sit right. No matter how good Sherman seemed, he could never be as outstanding as himself.

How could a man who was not even on his level dare to go after someone like Jin Shiya?

In short, from the moment Noland realized that Sherman and Jin Shiya had become close, Sherman’s good days were over. Not only did his workload increase, but even his boss became harder to deal with. Sherman wasn’t blind to the way Noland nitpicked him, but after dealing with Noland's volatile moods for so long, Sherman had become used to it.

Whenever Noland was in a bad mood, Sherman was always the unlucky one.

Then, one day, Noland asked Olivia, “What do you think of Sherman as a potential partner?”

Olivia, expressionless, poured tea for Noland, “Sir, I don’t think Sherman would be a very good partner. He’s too boring.”

Noland’s mood suddenly lifted. He had an idea: Sherman must have feelings for Olivia, right? Hearing the person he liked say this about him will be a huge blow to Sherman.

It made sense, though. Whether or not Sherman liked Olivia, Jin Shiya definitely wouldn’t be interested in someone as dull as Sherman.
