However, Jin Shiya never imagined that her reunion with Noland would come so soon.

When Jin Shiya learned that she had been appointed as the person in charge of RM’s project, and that the director had specifically chosen her, she knew she had been played. Noland, that old man, with his sudden turn and embrace before leaving, leaving her with his scarf—everything was meant to make her think of him more. He must have already planned to drag her along, even saying something about creating opportunities for her and Bai Yongyan, encouraging her to muster the courage to confess.

But everything had already been taken to Mexico. How could there be any time to confess now?

Aside from that "Expect a reunion day" remark, everything else had been a lie!

Jin Shiya felt a twitch at the corner of her eye, but she knew the bigger picture was more important. She quickly memorized everything Liu Hong had asked her to do, focusing on getting her visa, selecting the other people who would be going along, and handling a slew of preparations.

In the two weeks after Noland’s departure, Jin Shiya had been busier than when he was still around.

By the time she finally had a chance to relax, it was already when she was on the plane to Mexico. As the project’s leader, she was sitting in first class. The leather seats allowed her to stretch out slightly, exhaling a deep breath. Outside the airplane window, thick clouds covered the sky. Even now, Jin Shiya couldn’t shake the sense of disbelief—was she really about to meet Noland again?

With that lingering thought, she slowly drifted off to sleep.

Jin Shiya had been exhausted lately, and when she finally had the chance to relax, she allowed herself to sleep soundly. After all, once she landed, she wasn’t sure when she would have another moment to rest. She was here for business, dealing with a big project, and it was highly unlikely she’d get to relax on the beach. More likely, she’d be trailing the crew around.

But right now, the most important thing was sleep, sleep, and more sleep!

When she woke up, the plane was already descending. She had slept for more than twenty hours. By the time the plane landed, her legs were weak, her stomach was empty, and her head was foggy. Wherever she went, her small assistant, who Liu Hong had assigned to her, guided her.

At the arrivals gate, she didn’t see anyone who looked like Noland or his people, which wasn’t surprising. He was such a busy person, there was no way he’d be there to greet her. Jin Shiya forced herself to stay alert, especially since she had already spotted the crew’s reception team.

Putting on a professional smile, she walked over to greet the crew’s staff, exchanging pleasantries before leading RM’s team to the hotel where the crew had made reservations.

Though she was feeling unwell, Jin Shiya held herself together, managing the check-in process at the front desk, arranging the rooms for everyone. Once everything was in order and everyone was heading toward the elevator with their room keys, Jin Shiya felt a sense of relief. She figured it was finally her turn to head up.

She had assigned herself and her assistant to a standard room. Even though, when traveling within the country, she would always choose the best room, as the project leader and with limited room availability, she had to settle for something less comfortable.

But Jin Shiya had overestimated her endurance. After more than half a month of high-intensity work and a twenty-hour flight, coupled with a mountain of tasks she had forced herself to handle, the moment she allowed herself to relax, her legs betrayed her.

She was in business attire, wearing small high heels. As she stumbled, her body lurched forward, and Jin Shiya braced herself for the awkward fall she expected. However, the anticipated pain never came. Instead, she landed in a warm, firm embrace.
