Jin Shiya instinctively muttered a "thank you," but as she realized they were abroad, she prepared to switch to an internationally recognized language. However, before she could, the person in front of her spoke: "You can’t even walk properly. How could you be so stupid?"

She pulled away from his embrace and looked up, only to see Noland wearing sunglasses and a thin outfit—far more suited for the local Mexican weather than her own formal attire of long sleeves and pants.

"Which suitcase is yours?"

This man was always so domineering, speaking without consideration and sometimes infuriating, but he was also incredibly kind to Jin Shiya. Her assistant, who had been trailing behind, quickly pointed to a suitcase near the lobby’s lounge area. Noland nodded and gestured to Sherman to retrieve the bag.

Afterward, he grabbed Jin Shiya by the arm and led her out of the hotel.

"But this is the arrangement from the crew…"

Before she could finish her sentence, Noland cut her off. "I'll talk to the crew. The only thing you need to do now is rest properly. You, you silly woman, how could you possibly rest in a hotel like this with a room like that?"

— Though it was a standard room, it was still a five-star hotel…

Jin Shiya silently retorted in her mind, but she was too exhausted to argue. The joy of their reunion dulled the irritation from his rudeness and arrogance. She was half-reluctant, half-submissive, as Noland pushed her into the car. The backseat of the luxury sedan was spacious and comfortable, and the driver was incredibly smooth. Yet, despite the comfort, Jin Shiya couldn’t fall asleep.

"Not going to take a nap?" Noland asked.

"I slept too much on the plane, I can’t fall asleep now."

"Are you hungry?"

"Mm…" Actually, she had glanced at the food provided by the hotel when arranging the room, but nothing looked appetizing at all.

Hearing her response, Noland shot her a look full of judgment, as if to say, "You’re such a fool."

The car drove for a while before coming to a stop. Jin Shiya, too tired to notice much, didn’t pay attention to what they passed by. She only knew they were in a large estate, and as they arrived at the front gates, she realized the estate was right on the edge of a cliff by the sea, complete with a small beach and ocean view. It took another five or six minutes to reach the actual house. This was Noland’s private residence.

Jin Shiya knew Noland was rich, but she had never visited his place in Shangcheng. She only knew he owned an estate there. This was her first time following him to his home, and it was her first real sense of how large Noland’s so-called estate truly was.

"Is your place in Shangcheng this big too?" she asked.

"What are you thinking? There’s no land for me in Shangcheng."

As someone born and raised in Shangcheng, Jin Shiya realized. Even if Noland had the money, there simply wasn’t space available. Shangcheng had been developed nearly to its limits, and the undeveloped land was mostly far out in the suburbs. Noland wasn’t the type to buy property just for the sake of buying it—land too far out wouldn’t be useful for him.

Gradually, Jin Shiya began to notice that she and Noland often shared the same perspective.
