His laughter interrupted the meeting, but there was no trace of shame from him. Instead, he stood up directly: "Alright, the time's up. Just follow the content discussed and the previous plan, there shouldn't be any problems. It’s not in line with my principles to keep working at this time; it's time for lunch, isn't it?"
Thanks to Noland's boldness, the meeting that was supposed to continue quickly came to an end.
Sherman had prepared a business gathering, but he also offered each company the option of a private small gathering. Most chose the smaller gatherings, including RM. However, Noland and Sherman joined RM's company gathering.
They sat in a sea-view private room with a long table. There were only eight people, including the six from RM and the two of them, so there was more than enough space. After they were seated, the servers began to bring in the food.
The dishes were local specialties from MX, and seeing a variety of meats and main dishes after two meals of light porridge and side dishes, Jin Shiya’s appetite immediately grew. The first item placed in front of her was a corn crisp snack. The round plate also had two small bowls—one containing red sauce and the other green.
Noland, sitting next to her, acted as a guide and explained. They were seated closely, speaking in a tone that seemed almost like whispering in each other's ear.
"The red one is ketchup, with onions, chili, and garlic added. I know you don’t eat cilantro, so I made sure they didn’t put any in. The green one has tamarillo fruit—try it. I’m not fond of the taste."
Though Noland didn’t like it, perhaps Jin Shiya might enjoy it. Thinking this, she didn’t hesitate to pick up a triangle-shaped corn crisp, dip it into the green sauce, and pop it into her mouth. She remained silent for a moment before dipping it into the tomato sauce.
— Noland was right. It wasn’t tasty.
Jin Shiya noticed that most of the meal was made up of snacks, with the main items being things like tacos and corn tamales, which were delicious. She glanced at Noland and quietly asked, "Did you prepare this?"
"Mm." Noland swapped the plates between them, taking hers, which already had some leftover food on it. He had time to explain: "You’ve been eating lightly these past few days, so it's time to add some richness. When you come to a place, local street food is better than big meals. But this chef isn’t great with snacks."
He gave Jin Shiya a wink. "These delicacies were found by me after several days of searching for old restaurants in the city. I hired a master chef, and I personally prepared all the ingredients."
"If you have free time this afternoon, and your team wants to go out, don't go for street food anymore."
This man was too domineering, and Jin Shiya had no way of resisting him. Before the trip, she had already made plans with her assistant to visit street food stalls and had done her homework. After all, the MV project was only supposed to last half a month, but Chen Zichen had given them a whole month. Naturally, the extra time was meant for some fun.
But before she could even start enjoying her plans, Noland had already tied her up with his rules.
However, the snack feast Noland arranged was truly delicious. If she had to go out to find it herself, she wouldn’t have been able to find such authentic and tasty snacks.
